You're listing effects, not motives. If there are no upsides, why are they doing it?

I don't see the issue. You must not have TDS.

That’s actually pretty funny

But they do receive subsidies aiding their ramp up to EOS.

BYD got about 3.7b, US automakers got 12 billion to retool their factories.

Ours are subsidized as well.

Over what period and by what limited measure?

E.g., IIRC they were subsidized in the neighborhood of $50K/car through 2018. IOW, damn near 100%.

Reading comprehension not your thang????????

There may be a (listen closely) SHORT TERM period that's uncomfortable, but (listen closely again) it will pay off in MUCH BETTER TERMS for America over the long haul.

Sometimes you have to let the weaker adversary experience HOW HORRIBLE things will be for them to butt heads with the US before they get in line.

That MAY result in short term discomfort for us. So no, I don't agree with that libtard.

Most people are far too simple to understand the "tariffs thing".

He uses tariffs to negotiate a better deal for our country as the largest consumer markets to ever exist on the face of this earth. By increasing their tariff to sell their goods, he is forcing them to either make less on the product when they bring it in, or invest in making that product here in the US to avoid the tariff. He is making them make a decision. Either way, it is a win/win for us. This strategy simply requires patience and the understanding that there could possibly be some short term pain to achieve your goal.

This goes sideways with a corrupt lying media screaming like they know how economics works, and the price of eggs, and why haven't grocery prices been solved yet, the sky is falling!!!! Its all a bunch of bullshite.

Sit back and just enjoy.

Remember, these same geniuses that know so much about every topic, also lied for 4 straight years that Joe Biden wasn't a rotting corpse drooling and sniffing on women and little kids, and was running rings around the White House staff.

Tariffs work.
