The thing about this is, yes, the cops didn’t have to abuse this guy to defuse the situation. However, much lack of public safety was traded for this result and they simply got lucky. On top of that, if this guy doesn’t do time, his dangerous arse is going to be out on the street. That is the situation in a nutshell. Nobody should be happy about this.
