If the game is CO2 recapture, the play is diatom microalgal farming. But there is no money in it.

They are pushing a capture program up in North La. The proponents are using flowery language about "more jobs" and "high wages" but never explaining that it's all built on the federal government continuing to fund it. There' no profit in it for businesses otherwise so the moment that funding stops, so too do the jobs.

And then what? You're left with a rural area which now has hundreds (or thousands) of unemployed people and tons of federal equipment which will not be used nor sold (at least until well after it's rusted and rotted). Real estate properties depress as some move away to try to find work while others stay and create another Ferriday.

Now me and Elon might be wrong, but we have certainly given a logical reason for doing it.

Grossly uneducated reasoning actually. The ruinous experiments are found in those that failed basic physics in imagining that there will ever be a net benefit to any CO2 sequestration strategy.

It is also a fact that the global warming alarmists have been dishonest and provably wrong almost every step of the way.
This is what blows your entire argument up. You forgot dishonest scientists. The combination of these 2 has called your first 2 "facts" into question.

Get these 2 entities to be honest and then we can get some "facts" that we can deal with.

Also, you are going to have to get other countries on board or we are spitting into the wind with our little CO2 roundup.

Very terrible.

If one if these CO2 injection wells fails/catastrophic leak, it would look like Bhopal

Not that I believe the economics of CO2 sequestration could stand up without taxpayer subsidies, but come on, man. Industry has been injecting CO2 into pore space for 50+ years.

How many times has this doomsday scenario happened in the history of secondary oil & gas recovery operations where CO2 is used?

Irrelevant.

We're talking about the creation of an "industry" from whole cloth for the sole purpose of "sequestration" of CO2. There are businesses out there trying to get contracts with other industries for sequestration and pipelines that have no concept of the permitting or technology/infrastructure required.

Just plant a shitload of trees.

No argument from me in this. I’m not going to defend the economics of this industry at all. Just that the technology has been used and proven for decades, and safely.

Well…the injection via pipelined CO2. Don’t get me started on the waste of sucking random air out of the atmosphere.

Oh, I know. Again, I’m arguing that your pipelined injection can and has been done safely for a long time. There are going to be questionable outfits try to get into this game, but at the end of the day, not sure how many will actually be able to execute. This is a costly venture.

Also, it is worth noting that the biggest reason this carbon capture stuff has become a thing is because government is FORCING companies to reduce emissions while expecting them to keep up with public demand for their products. I’ve heard the phrase “social license to operate” more in the past three years than all the previous years of my life.

Roughly 400ppm CO2 in the atmosphere.... that's 0.0004% how much can they really sequester?

Actually 400 ppm is 0.040%

But your point us still valid.

If it drops below 200 ppm, massive plants loss will occur worldwide

Amoco… it was an interesting field.. very untraditional and had a nice 2d seismic grid to get a look at the subsurface structures…
