Last night, Schumer and Pelosi said in their rebuttal that Trump should open the government, and then they'll talk about border security. So Trump asked them in the meeting today: "If I re-open the government, where will we be in 30 days? Will you pass legislation that includes a border wall?"

Pelosi straight up told him no, so what else was Trump supposed to do? Compromise means you have to meet halfway and agree to certain terms. Pelosi and Schumer won't even do that.
