And Merck has an anti-viral pill Molnupiravir wrapping up clinical trials on August 10th. Clinical Trial of Molnupiravir Merck has to get paid since it lost out with its vaccine.

and another company, Romark has an anti-viral pill called NT-300 that is using Niazoxanide that was originally developed for treating intestinal protozoan infections (parasites). Romarks Phase 3 clinical trial was completed in April 2021 but no word on EUA. Wonder why. Romark annouced initial results of phase 3 clinical trial of NT-300 tablets for the treatment of Covid-19

No, you aren't misreading anything. Protease inhibitors, in pharmological terms, refer generally to a class of drugs developed for HIV and Hepatitis C. The anti-retrovirals do have some action on parasites, so there is potential for overlap between protease inhibitors and traditional anti-parasite drugs in possible mechanisms of action. But by textbook definitions, HCQ and Ivermectin aren't classed as protease inhibitors, as the protease inhibitors I think Pfizer are referring to are probably modeled on earlier protease inhibitors, which interfered with the post-translational cleavage of what is called the Gag-Pol polyprotein in HIV and NS3/4A inhibitors in Hep C, which again targeted post-translational mechanisms.

It’s not “ivermectin like”. The hypothesized mechanism for ivermectin is protease inhibition. That’s where the similarities end.

Lots of HIV drugs are protease inhibitors but that doesn’t mean you should go take HORSE DEWORMER for HIV.

Anybody care to know what HCQ and Ivermectin does?

I remember when the government lied about the effectiveness of HCQ and some governors went as far as ordering doctors not to prescribe it.

They should all be hung.

Why is fauxi now promoting an animal drug for people now??? Answer that all you jerks that have been ridiculing ivermectin. Enjoy your crow.

The delay in his promotion of this is all about the money. More proof he doesn't care about your health.

Nitazoxanide has also been shown to inhibit replication of SARS, MERS and other coronaviruses as well as influenza viruses, rhinoviruses, parainfluenza viruses, RSV and other respiratory viruses in cell culture studies

Lookie here...this stuff cures everything.

So that's only going to be $2000 per pill.

A link from that thread on an Ivermectin as prophylactic study.

quote:

Conclusion: Two doses of oral ivermectin (300 µg/kg/dose given 72 hours apart) as chemoprophylaxis among HCWs reduced the risk of COVID-19 infection by 83% in the following month. Safe, effective, and low-cost chemoprophylaxis has relevance in the containment of pandemic

HCQ is an anti-malarial aminoquinolone phosphate salt and immunosuppresant. As a anti-malarial drug it is a blood schizonticide which interferes with parasite metabolism through uptake in the parasites food vacuole, which inhibits heme polymerization and causes the lysis of cell membranes. As an immunosuppressant, it is thought to suppress intracellular antigen processing and loading of peptides onto MHC II molecules by increasing the pH of lysosomal and endosomal compartments, suppressing T-cell activation. Other proposed mechanisms for the immunosuppressive aspects of the medication have to do with inhibition of leukocyte chemotaxis, inhibition of DNA and RNA synthesis, and the trapping of free radicals, among others.

Since the most severe effects of CCPV are due to the immune system over revving to counteract the virus this might just be very helpful.
