So, here are the CDC’s guidelines for Summer Camp

I don’t know about y’all, but I went to summer camp for a month throughout most of my youth. 4th-8th grade, and it was a fricking blast. I’d love to send my kid one day to the camp I went to especially with our new Orwellian digital age. Summer camp is needed now more than ever for both the kids and parents. Well here are the new guidelines and see if there is now any point to summer camp. Reason
You know when Hitler Youth is non-ironically starting to sound like a barrel of fun compared to your camp where you’re expected to kill bunnies and literally beat the weak into submission, you’ve fricked up. How are campers supposed to stay this distant with 10 of them in a cabin at a time? How are they supposed to do outdoor climbing exercises with each other. I guess dodgeball is done? Socially distanced meals? Are you fricking kidding me, especially when 90% of the people there are 22 and under? Really it’s just the management and kitchen staff that is over that age. Hopefully my old camp tells them to shove those recommendations up their arse.
quote:
Everyone at the camp—including staff and every kid over the age of two—must wear masks at all times, unless they are eating or swimming. They should wear two layers of masks, especially when social distancing is difficult, regardless of "whether activities are indoors or outdoors."
Campers should be placed in "cohorts," and their interaction with people outside the cohort must be limited.
There should always be at least three feet between campers of the same cohort, and six feet between campers of different cohorts. Staff should keep six feet away from campers at all times, whether inside or outside. Distance should be maintained while eating, napping, or riding the bus: The CDC suggests seating kids in alternating rows.
The use of physical objects that might be shared among kids—toys, art supplies, electronics—should be limited wherever possible.
Camps should not permit close-contact sports and indoor sports, and should require masks regardless.
If anyone is curious there are separate restrictions for outdoor gardening.

I have very very bad thoughts and feelings for these people and I’m gonna leave it at that

Seriously, have any of these people been to a summer camp before, or at least a good one? I watched the Parent Trap back in the day and while my buddies (with one exception who went to camp with me and still one of my 3 best friends) my friends were saying I’d like to go to a camp as cool as that, but I did it for boys. I’m struggling to think of anything I could do out there besides tennis, biking, and horseback riding that I could do with these restrictions. This isn’t how camps work and it’s cruel. I hope they all tell the CDC to go frick themselves.

We allowed these fricking people to take control of our nation.

I've never listened to the CDC for consuming red meat, raw seafood, or the amount I'm allowed to drink. No way in hell would I consult them on "Summer Camp" Guidelines.

My kids wouldn't be going to any camp that enforced this bull shite.

I do think now more than ever it’s more important to send their kids off to summer camp so long as they aren’t going to enforce values against what you want. It was liberating as a kid to get away from society, and it was nowhere near as indoctrinated as they are today. It’s difficult to get into these two camps and the kid has to be interviewed these days I believe, but I’d recommend parents send their kids to Alpine (boys) and Desoto (girls) up in Northeast Alabama. Instills God’s values while also instilling social networks into their kids. Met people that became lifelong friends and were also good for networking. I’ll put it this way, if the kid is a shithead and a bully, then they’re banned forever from the camp no matter how much the parent is worth. I highly recommend the camps. They are awesome and the closest your kids can get to feel going to Hogwarts without being in danger like those kids.

At this point, I just assume CDC stands for Comically Dumb Cünts.

There’s a whole lot of “should” in there, so how about a big F you to the CDC and Covid enthusiasts. We’re Americans in the land of the free! We’ll do what we damn well please and not do what we don’t freakin feel like doing!

I went to a Christian camp, but with the opening lunch after the prayer I would like for them to teach the campers the middle finger to give to the CDC. Seriously, every great kids camp in the country is fully booked at this point and probably has been since like November. Never have the parents wanted the kids out of their house more, disconnected from society, and have a great time with their peers. Barring idiot camps that you don’t want your kid going to anyway, they’ve got to be doing gangbusting numbers this summer.

What in the article gives you that impression? It is dated today and has mention of the vaccine. It also states these are the “new” guidelines for camps.

Indeed. I got recommended by my friend’s parents whose kids also went there and he was one of my best friends (even to this day), but it’s not impossible to get in. Here’s the thing: if they think your kid is a little shite, then they’re not getting into Alpine or Desoto. You get preferable treatment if you have a brother or sister at the other sibling camp (Alpine for boys and Desoto for girls), you get a reference from a current camper, or you went to either of these camps and want your kids to go to. You have a particularly shithead bully of a kid in the manner Draco Malfoy, then they won’t hesitate to kick your family out of the camp as a whole. They’re cool with ballbusting, and it isn’t helicopter parenting, but if your kid truly sucks then they won’t hesitate to kick the kid out since they have no shortage of good kids on the waiting list.

And by the way to get kicked out of Alpine or Desoto you have the be an actual piece that you as an adult acknowledge will in all likelihood be horrible human being going forward.

There is nothing in The Constitution about needing the CDCs permission to do a fricking thing. They need to piss off!

I saw a church advertising a virtual summer camp.
