I would love for you to report back to us with what you find out in the world asking this question. It'll probably be very educational for you.

Fixing that obviously involves building smaller homes.
Seems to me that if there were a demand for smaller homes, a builder would step up and provide.

Are you saying you are not capable of finding a lot, designing a smaller house, coordinating with a builder to dry in that house, contracting an electrician and a plumber to do installs, finding a drywall company to install drywall, etc?

I built my second home. And I didn't think I was accomplishing something otherworldly.

Who is stopping you from building a home if you can't find what you can afford in your market?

What policy have you (or anyone) posted about in this thread? I haven't read every page but I don't remember anything policy-related in what I've scanned through.

Back in the day when common sense was prevalent, we learned that if you can’t afford to live there, the pay isn’t good enough.

Entry level pay isn't. 20+ year experience pay is. Also, this doesn't address the point I was making. None of those "starter homes" exist anymore. They get snatched up by cash buyers and turned into rentals, or they get torn down to build a $500k house on the lot, if it's a desirable area.

zero policies have been discussed. Its more about kids wanting what their parents have straight out of college without having to work for it or actually learn how to accomplish it

They want cheap homes that are bougee, in great neighborhoods, less than 10 minutes from their 150k paying jobs they get right out of college
