So, about this transgender military ban

They’re talking about it on a lot of the talk shows but nobody is mentioning what I always perceived as the reason for concern which is the mental health aspect. The rate at which transgenders attempt suicide is exponentially higher than any other group. To me, if it wasn’t for this (that’s a huge if), and they can pass all the tests, then they’re no different than gays. They have or appear to have something that could directly affect their ability to do the job. It’s no different than determining someone with Down syndrome isn’t suited for the military. If this violates transgender’s human rights, then why doesn’t it violate citizens with downs’ rights? Nobody is even mentioning this in their discussion on the national shows
