Somebody here had floated this idea. I can't remember who it was, but I'm glad they will be doing this.

And, obtw, I'm all for people getting it who really need it.

Unless someone is designated truly disabled, i.e. actually retarded, wheel-chair bound, missing limbs, blind, etc., any individual wanting SNAP should have to apply every three months, each time proving their need. If you forgot to reapply, you are deemed non-eligible and have to wait at least six months before you can apply again. If you are on e SNAP for a full year, you are automictically dropped and cannot re-apply for at least six months.

SNAP eligible food should follow similar guidelines as WIC. No candy, steaks, potato chips, soft drinks, etc. Only things like ground meat, milk, juice, stocks, staples, pasta, dairy products, fruit and vegetables, bread, grain cereal, etc. allowed to be purchased with SNAP.

Just to start off with anyway.

Needs to be a lifetime limit on aid, either time or amount of it

Maybe too much to hope for to require drug testing

Always the same tired excuses, it’s why nothing ever gets done. “He didn’t follow the right legal channels”, “there is no way to tell who is cheating”, etc.
