Don’t those people know that chocolate city is just a long form of saying shithole???

So glad my zip code is 71111.

His goal, as he explained earlier this year was to lower costs and bring in more minority participation

These two goals are not compatible. You either go after the cheapest, or go after minority participation.

Yeah minority offerings may be cheaper but that just ends up being a happy coincidence.

The Perkins administration has obtained additional insurance to bring the city up to $300 million dollars in property coverage.

quote:

The council approved paying $1.6 million in invoices in a special meeting on Monday in part to help the city get more coverage. City council members have received an email through Chief Operating Officer Sherricka Fields Jones that says the city is trying to restore the full $815 million in coverage.

We're told the additional insurance was obtained through the same broker -- Frost insurance of Dallas and its agent, Roddrelle Sykes, who's politically connected to the Perkins campaign.

So they paid an additional $1.6M in premiums and they're still under-insured by $500M. Roddrelle gets another commission check and Shreveport is looking down the barrel of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes today. Nice.
