If you do not grasp that the right tail of the female curve overlapped with the first SD of the male normal distribution curve, and that the left tail of the male curve overlapped the first SD of the female curve, that would indicate an IQ comparable to that of a house plant.
You do not teach advanced mathematics of any sort.

What you are describing is the tails being far apart. The fact that a tail (which is the third SD) for one gender is under the first SD for the other gender proves that the distributions are highly separated. Both tails should overlap each other if there was no significant difference. An effect size of 1 means that there is 1 SD difference in group means that is considered a large effect. What you are describing is an effect size of at least 2 SD or Cohen’s d of 2. That would be a huge effect.
