Primarily, valuing families and prioritizing child rearing isn’t very capital-ist, which is why our society doesn’t do it. Who gets rich with off good, educated kids?
It's Capitalism, not Feudalism.
So those educated kids, the ones who actually do the innovating, are the fuel for capitalism.

How do those innovators get rich off of other good, educated kids?

By hiring them, sharing societal safety with them, selling goods and services to them, etc.. Our system flourishes off of creation, not stagnant monetary status.

They aren’t fuel for corporations.

I mean if you're going to look at it that way, the economic return on producing and raising productive children is off the charts.

It's one reason why population growth is such a critical element of economic growth.

But you're wrong about everything, literally.

So continue.

What corporations did Musk and Zuckerberg fuel? The ones they themselves created? Unrealized corporations don’t bribe politicians or shape policies.

And where does this free market exist?

Now, now, don't get silly cubs.

Do you shop for groceries at Albertsons, Piggly Wiggly, Winn-Dixie, Publix, Whole Foods, Harris Teeter, Costco, BJ's, Sams, Target, or Walmart?

Why? What is the rationale for your choice?

Absolutely!
That is the point.

No Musk = No TSLA as we know it, no Boring Company, no Neuralink, no X, no PayPal as we know it, no SolarCity, no OpenAI, no Zip2, no Spacex

Those companies directly or indirectly account for about 1,000,000 jobs!
That is "fueling" what otherwise would not exist.

But those returns accrue to society broadly, not to private investors seeking immediate profit. Capitalism’s quarterly profit logic rewards short-term gains, not generational outcomes.

Conversely, industries that profit from immediate control (incarceration, surveillance, and pharmaceuticals) have clear and rapid revenue streams. The U.S. prison-industrial complex literally monetizes the management of societal failure rather than its prevention. Similarly, the psychopharmaceutical industry profits from medicating behavioral issues rooted in poverty and trauma rather than addressing their structural causes.

I know. We’re supposed to behave as if everything in the USA is fueled by integrity and fairness.

Shrinkflation doesn’t exist, greedflation doesn’t exist, surge pricing doesn’t exist…

This line of thinking drives me insane. “Select a better market that fits my entirely subjective criteria”

I just read this "The only thing that permits us to acquiesce in an erroneous theory is the lack of a better one;" and I feel like this applies to capitalism. We accept it because we haven't dreamt up a better system yet.

I wonder what two parent household rates look like in Japan.

Has precisely nothing to do with the topic at hand

The hell it doesn't.

If you don't think there's a correlation between two parent vs. one parent families, family incomes, stable home lives, and the likelihood of eating more cheap, fattening junk food and snacks vs. healthy food at home, you're not intelligent enough to participate in this discussion.

When was the last time you bought a fricking buggy full or groceries at the grocery store? Fresh fruits, vegetables, and quality meat, chicken, pork, and fish are all a hell of a lot more expensive than processed foods, prepackaged meals, and frozen pizzas.
