I spent a lot of time in Wales several years back. I would be interested to see demographics of how many of the people in Wales getting them are actually English.

True story...my buddy asked me to meet up with him and some friends in a bar in Swansea. I went in and ordered a beer, and noticed that the bar was kind of noisy, but I couldn't understand what was going on around me. My friends walked in and slapped me on the back with a big smile and warm greeting...after that, the people in the bar stopped speaking Welch and started speaking English. Once they realized that I wasn't English, and was ok by their locals, they were really engaging with me.

It doesn't get the attention that it gets in Ireland...but even in the adjacent country, Wales, it is recognized that the English suck. I would bet that the vast majority of those doing this in Wales are actually English women.
