I like the sound of that.

"But there are two words you'll soon be hearing a lot — 'Herschel Walker,'" veteran Georgia GOP consultant Matt Towery told Newsmax.

If anyone could be called a "hero" or "legend" in the Peach State, it is Walker. In a state where college football is considered the sport of kings, Walker starred with the University of Georgia's Bulldogs, won the coveted Heisman Trophy in 1982 and was All-American three times.

Walker went on to play professional football and had stints with the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, and the New York Giants.

At 58, he has long signaled he is a conservative Republican and recently testified before Congress against proposed reparations for slavery to American blacks.

If the athlete has any problem with a Senate bid, it is that he lives out of state. But supporters say, given his heroic status, Walker would be accepted if he simply bought a house and moved back. As veteran Georgia public relations man Phil Kent put it, "He could move back to his hometown of Athens on 'Herschel Walker Drive.'"

I am thinking Perdue/Loeffler have been told by the grassroots people that Herschel is going to be the candidate and to pound sand. Perdue got the message, not sure Loeffler will. Question is can Herschel get elected in today's GA? I know he is a legendary hero to native Georgians but the majority of the Atlanta residents of today are transplants with no real connection to UGA or the state.

If it was alright for hilldawg to do it - then the demdawgs in GA ought not have any objection to it.

I like it - I like it a lot.

He seems totally sincere in his principles to me

I attended my first local GOP meeting last Saturday since my falling out with the state party a few years ago. One of the things we discussed was who to run against Warnock in 2022 and Walker was the overwhelming favorite consensus. He would bring a familiar but fresh face to a state party that desperately needs it and cant have the constant racial shite flinging thrown at him like would happen to a white candidate. The county party chair who is a vice chair for the state party seemed to be in agreement and had indicated that they would be looking to make overtures possibly in the next few months. I can not stress enough how we can not run a Doug Collins against Warnock in 2022.

Except Walker suffers from dissociative mental health disorder and is mentally ill. But sure, go for it.

Well now that you mention it. Multiple personalities is probably less an issue than plain old dementia.

If Herschel moves back to Georgia, he can have his pick of any political office. Governor, Senator, Secretary of State, Lt. Gov, and probably representative in any district he moved to.

He is da man!

That would be even better because Democrats could then relate to him.

Hasn’t impeded his success yet.

Also, DC is full of nut jobs. At least he isn’t choosing to be one. He can claim illness, what’s their excuse?

Almost every liberal politician is a sociopath and mentally ill. So what...
