I'm not against arming teachers per se. But it is not the only fix. The school itself needs to be hardened.
Every external door should have an inside panic bar and be locked to folks on the outside. People should not be able to just walk in to the school. You should be buzzed in after someone gets a look at you.
There should also be armed security of some kind.
As sick as it is, you can put a monetary value on every child or person for that matter. If these kids were replaced with just 1/1000th of there monetary value, then you could bet that there would be armed guards there.
