First, its not up to you to decide what I can afford or not.
Personally, I'm sick and tired of the pay your fair share rhetoric from people who have NO concept of what I already pay in property taxes to the school system in my 30 years as a property owner.
Further, our public school system in Houston is broken. Hands out for more funding, only to either have it taken via Robin Hood laws and sent to the border schools OR used to add to the many administrative layers, never making it into the classroom. Rinse and repeat next year. It NEEDS competition.

someone may open up a great private school in rural areas?
Haha. Sure thing, Greg.

Because what America needs is for rich people to get tax money for private schools they already easily afford.
In TX property taxes are paying for the schools, so those rich people are probably funding a much larger portion of the school than others. We have 30 acres west of Tomball near Houston, and I can tell you I’m paying enough to the schools to cover quite a few students despite my son going to private school. Even if the vouchers covered all of my son’s tuition we would still be funding multiple students in the public system.
