I don't know any liberal who would give a person a pass just because they had a "D" behind their name, if that "D" stood for Dixiecrat and not Democrat. They certainly didn't give Richard Russell, James Eastland, George Wallace, Ross Barnett, Lester Maddox, Orville Faubus and all those other segregationists passes and they were all registered Democrats, and they wouldn't have given Byrd a pass if he was still voting in 2004 like he voted in 1954.

It was 55% of the white vote in a primary. And just food for thought 6 of 10 members of the LA Congressional delegation were Democrats and Clinton won LA by 6% in 1992 so I wonder how many of those 55% of primary voters were old school segregationist (Byrd) Democrats?

Ain't gonna happen because Scalise is staunchly pro-Israel. Word on the street is that one of the liberal Palestinian associations are the source of this story in an effort to get rid of Scalise and put in a a more anti-Israel republican into Scalise's position in Congress.
