Heitkamp just needs to go ahead and switch. A Democrat will not win that race.

If Heitkamp gets primaried for a far left guy, a republican win will be guaranteed in that senate race.

if you read DU, they want all the moderate DEMs primaried by more extremists
if you read DU after the Gorsuch filibusterer, they were livid at all the DEMs who broke rank (strategically and with party permission) out of pure ideology. they have no belief in strategy or the party anymore and literally only care about their ideology (that's why they're doing things like protesting at Schumers house)
