Alex Jones doesn't retract stories because 90% of what comes out of his mouth is complete gobbledygook that anyone above the age of 5 should easily be able to recognize.
It's like saying the Enquirer didn't "have" to retract their story about the mutant fish/koala/bird who saved Earth from annihilation at the zero hour so that means the Enquirer is a reputable news source.

How can any source where the people looked like they were attending a funeral on election day be considered credible?

The reason the sources are unnamed is fear of prosecution. They would either be picked up for leaking classified material or conspiracy to overthrow the government, or both.
