The Russians are already unloading on the Ukrainians with all they have, which by the way, is around 30-40 planes less, and it isn't having an impact.
This is why the Ukrainians aren't intimidated by the Russians, nor should they be.

You're serious Clark?
How much land have they lost? How many bodies have been bagged?
I think they are outgunned here but go on...

Deadly series
In 3 1/2 years and a million casualties they've taken land a little bit larger than the state of Pennsylvania and have less to show for it after they were beaten back during the Battle of Kiev and additional Oblasts:
Russia's Battlefield Woes
Let me give you all some context.
Today, June 6th, marks the 81st anniversary of D Day, the day America and her allies landed on the beaches of France.
May 8, 1945, marks Victory in Europe, when the Germans formally surrendered to the Allies.
That's 11 months, boys and girls. Less than a year.
Less than a year for America and her allies to kick Nazi Germany's teeth in, take over half of Europe and do so while taking 400k casualties, and to do so while preparing to fight and fighting a second war in the Pacific against arguably the two foremost military powers on the planet at the time. That's winning.
The Russians can't control a 10th of that land in 3 1/2 times the time alloted against a country that barely had a functioning military and had a comedian as a PM.
They're losers, people. And the whole worthless, backward, drunk country is going to fall apart before they ever get to Kiev.

He definitely said Russians in the movie. I’ve seen it about 100 times.

He absolutely said Russians. Wasn't Fred Thompson awesome? I absolutely would have voted for that guy to be president.
But the character meant Soviets, as we were fighting the Soviets in those days. Russians was just slang for Soviets in those days - I mean Ramius, the character the Admiral was referencing, was Lithuanian, a citizen of a country that's now a proud member of NATO.
Make sure to read the book - it's even better.

Everything about that movie is amazing except for Stanley. Very poor acting.

I count four. Four Russian "Kalibr" 3M-54 Crusie missiles.
At roughly $6.5M apiece that's about $25,000,000 wasted on killing innocent women and children while doing nothing to help Russia win this war.
Oh, excuse me - 'Special Military Operation'
Dumb schmucks.

Yes, I think this is to make people believe this is the retaliation and get complacent.

Putin will eventually unload on them and he may unload on a few others in Europe.

You are naive if you think Russia is just fighting Ukraine. They also aren't using their full ability to fight this war.

I not only know that they aren't just fighting the Ukrainians, I'm proud of it. Send them more of our taxpayer money, I am fine with it. Absolute bargain.
And if Putin hasn't committed whatever any reasonable human being would consider to be Russia's 'full ability' than he's literally the biggest Frick Up on the planet right now, considering what this war is costing him and his country.
If the Russians continue to mess this up they are going to treat him like one of the Romanovs.

Maybe Putin should find out where Zelinsky sleeps.

Russia isnt even trying. Plus that campaign required much more men and material compared to what the Russians are contributing

So you're proud of the atrocities once committed by the Commies? The slaughtering of an entire family which included the innocent Romanov children? Thanks for providing insight as to who you are, Comrade.
Oh, I also find it ironic you bring up Putin and the Romanovs in the same sentence. Looks like the same group is trying to take back Russia again...

But I do question whether it was smart to hit the bombers. Did that help them?
The thinking is probably that it cost Russia dearly, not that it helped them (Ukraine) directly. Russia’s power in the world is solely based on its nuclear strike capability. Their conventional forces have been exposed as nearly harmless, their economy is a joke, their birthrate is so low that they are a rapidly declining nation. So degrading their ability to deliver nuclear weapons is a heavy blow to Russia.
