America First Until....Well....You Actually Have to Put America First. Bone spurs seem to be just find as much golf as he plays.

Ron DeSantis appeared to compare his own military service to Donald Trump's draft-dodging when asked how he'd cope with insults hurled by the former president.

Speaking to Fox News on Wednesday night, the Florida governor said such jibes would pale in comparison to the hardships experienced by service personnel - with the lawmaker himself once serving as a Navy lawyer.

Trump, by comparison, dodged being drafted into the Vietnam War by claiming he suffered from bone spurs - and DeSantis was seemingly keen to highlight the ex-president's much-mocked excuse.

He told Fox he was unconcerned about potential insults on the campaign trail, saying: 'If the sacrifice I have to make is people are going to call me names, that pales into comparison with what so many people have done for me throughout history so that I could live in a free country.'

Notice how we never hear anything about Joe’s lack of military service in the Vietnam era. Deferred due to student status and/or asthma.

Ron is just rehashing attacks. I don’t think there’s anything fresh or new anyone can attack Trump on.

Ron was a navy jag. Let’s not act like he’s a war hero or a badass.

He’s going to keep sinking like a rock if he thinks normal political attacks work on Trump.

Nobody cares he dodged Vietnam. Everyone on here would dodge Vietnam, let’s not act like we were fighting the Nazi in some noble cause.

Why not.....Trump and his merry band of sycophants have called Ron gay, a groomer, made fun of his wife who battled breast cancer, and made fun of his sister who died of cancer.

Jjdoc was openly calling Ron a coward on here yesterday

He didn’t attack Trump, even implicitly. He simply said people died to protect our freedoms so he could handle someone calling him names.

Jeebus. Some of y’all like to find stuff that just ain’t there.

Yeah well at least he stepped up and served and was in Iraq which is more than Trump can say. Ron could have been pulling down $$$$ in big law but didn't.

Ron wins this one

In hindsight, everyone should have refused to go to Vietnam, just as patriots now should not be joining the military.

Tribalism really does bring out the irrationality in people, doesn’t it?

I mean is service not better than dodging drafts with "bone spurs"

I'm not saying he has a Medal of Honor but he is an Iraq war veteran who served his country, that has to count for something or we're all hypocrites,

It’s a peculiar somewhat weak attack point by Team Big Ron. Surely Big Ron will roll out some more substantial attack points soon, probably on Fox and Fiends.

If I was old enough to be drafted into Vietnam , knowing what I know today , I would have dodged the draft also.
