re: Reminder: Democrats can end shutdown with 15mins and 0.013571428% of our overall budget

The point is the Dems are squabbling about a minuscule portion of the budget for preventing a good chunk of illegal immigration.
If you believe Dems really are concerned about the budget, versus just preventing Trump from getting a win... then your head is buried deep in the sand.

The “Democratic” party are no angels, but a president who uses the government as a bargaining chip (after losing the popular vote and never reaching 50% approval) in an attempt to make good on an outrageous and unpopular campaign promise is disgraceful.
Two years of one party in power, why was this pushed back?
We all know why. .
Not enough republicans support it, so Trump is using the loss in the midterms to shift the blame on the other party.

See my post right before yours...
How else is he supposed to get a common sense, cost effective security measure in place when the Dems oppose anything he does?

Wouldn't the OP make this true as well?
Not really. The dems have stated this is a financial decision. The OP shows how small of an amount has been requisition relative to this single year's budget.
The dems are obviously playing politics. Trump's request is extremely reasonable. There are practically zero financial repercussions as a result.
I'll tell you that while I want the wall, I'm hoping this shutdown goes as long as possible. We'll see how long the democrats want it to last. Personally, I hope they are as slow to read the tea leaves as they've been in the past.

How about cut $5 billion from the defense budget to pay for it.
If the dems modified the budget to do this, Trump would sign. The dems simply don't want that.

I don't want universal healthcare. That would be a disaster. Only an idiot would want that.

Why not pass tent pole legislation when you have power?
Why was this not a big rush until after the elections?

It's a humorous concept to criticize Trump for being ineffective in leading the Dems.

Going to need to define tent pole legislation...
Regardless, do you really think that if it could have been done before, the R's just decided to wait for the fun of it?
The fact still remains that the Dems are opposing something so obviously needed just to prevent a Trump win. I place the blame largely on them.

So do nothing to stop the billions and billions being spent on illegals flooding into our country?
