Yes, Trump showed a big increase in votes and took full advantage of the large turnout.

In 2016, the Democrats got 65,853,514 votes, while in 2020, the Democrats got 81,283,501 votes — an increase of 15,429,987.

Biden also took full advantage of the large turnout and added to the number of popular votes the Dems got in 2016.

The election was a referendum on Donald Trump. It hardly mattered who the Dems ran. You were either pro Trump or anti Ttump.

quote:

Where did these votes come from?

People were energized by all the controversy and the ease of voting added to the vote totals. Certainly there had to be some hanky panky with some voting more than once, but I suspect that happens in every election. There was probably more vote harvesting where political activists went door to door getting ballots for their guy. Legal? Illegal? Who really knows.

quote:

On Election Night 2020, Trump seemed to be winning at first. His electoral votes were climbing. Then all of a sudden, as if all the networks got a phone call from command headquarters, the networks stopped the electoral count. Right on cue.

Here’s where you mix apples and oranges. Trump was never leading in the popular vote or in the electoral college. He was leading in several battleground states that were waiting on votes to be tallied. This was no different than in 2016 except this time things broke the wrong way. States he barely won in 2016 went the other way in 2020.

All of these states didn’t quit counting votes all at once. That’s fiction. Some stopped in some counties and restarted. Some stopped as they always did and returned the next several dsys to finish.

Most people watching tv early Wednesday morning knew Trump was in trouble because they knew where the outstanding votes were coming from and how many votes were out there. The same thing happened in 2016 and folks knew before it was official that Hillary was toast.

Let’s use that figure. It’s about a 28% increase in OP’s average voter turnout of 62.5%.
OP’s contention was with a statistically improbable increase of registered voters as high as 25% Joe Biden’s 81,000,000 votes were inexplicable.
•Reuters’s 153,000,000 was used as an accurate number of registered voters. A 25% increase is about 191,250,000 total registered voters in 2020.
• If there was an across the board turnout in 2020 like California of 80% then, ironically, 153,000,000 voted, or, 100% of Reuters’s total registered voters.
• Of that number, President Trump received 74,000,000 leaving Joe Biden with only 79,000,000. Close, but no cigar.

Impossibilities have to be accepted to justify Joe Biden’s winning the 2020 popular vote.

How is it possible people still don't understand that voter turnout uses eligible voters not registered voters.

On average Registered voters turnout about 80-90%. You're trying to mix eligible voter (turnout) which measures those in the US who are eligible to vote but may or may not be registered. This number was 66.8% in 2020 up from low 60s in previous elections.

no.
68 to 75 is average.

it was 66% 2020.

registered voters have never turned out 90% in the history.

80% of registered voters of California voted 2020.
was the all time high.
due to mail.
20% got the ballot and didn't bother to mail it.

Incorrect. It usually averages in the 80s (for registered voters) you probably have to find a similar election where you had a polarizing candidate like trump to do a comparison though (Hayes perhaps).

2016
157.6m registered voters.
128.8m voted
82% registered voter turnout
59.2% voter eligible turnout

2020
168.31m registered voters
155.4 voted
92% registered voter turnout
66.8% voter eligible turnout

Trump won 18 of 19 Bell Weather counties.

Trump won House seats. Biden LOST seats.

Like Obama, Trump won Florida, Ohio and Iowa

Of the 3143 U.S. Counties, Biden only won 477. Guess who won the rest.

Stop playing stupid because you love pedophilia. Biden lost. You people are guilty of treason.

This low energy trope again? Let me try one for 2016!

Trump lost 14 Bellwhethers to Hillary in 2016.

Hillary won house seats, Trump lost seats.

Like Obama, Hillary won Nevada, Virginia and Colorado.

Land still doesn't vote.

Stop playing stupid because you love pedophilia. Trump lost. You people are guilty of treason.

You are either an idiot or very poorly informed.

From 1980 to 2016, 19 counties voted for the winner of the presidential election every single time. Valencia County NM voted for the victor in every presidential election from 1952 to 2016.

But in 2020, 18 of these 19 “bellwether counties” voted for former President Donald Trump. Just one — Clallam County, Washington — voted for President Joe Biden.

You're the one looking like a bit of an idiot I am afraid.

If you bothered to read there rest of that article you would have seen this:

A total of 35 counties voted for the winner of each presidential election from 1980 through 2012. Nineteen of these counties continued their streak in 2016 by voting for Trump, but the remaining 16 counties ended their bellwether streak by voting for Hillary Clinton.

It's ok you can admit 2016 was stolen now or you like banging kids per my dank meme skills.
