The fricking Democrats have literally SUED the president claiming that he was incorrect in saying there’s an immigration crisis on the border.

Are they dropping the suit now?

THESE PEOPLE ARE INSANE.

They suffer from a mental disease.

I pray for their lost souls and minds every day.

Look, I'm against using the picture of the dead family to score cheap points, but certainly you understand that what you are saying doesn't make any sense, right?

Indulge us

Last month: he can’t do this. There’s no emergency.

Today: there’s an emergency, look at this dead father and his kid. Trump is bad.

“May it please the court, the democrats arguments last month are now moot and totally worthless. I’ll move to have this matter denied.”

What? 3 months ago the Democrats in Congress sues the president of the United Stares and claimed that he was wrong when he declared a National Emergency created by a flood of illegal aliens caravaning across the desert.

Today the Democrats are on TV blaming Trump for the Emergency resulting from a flood of illegal aliens caravanning across the dessert, but failing to explain where we’re supposed to put 100000 people caravaning across the dessert to come to the country illegally.

Were they wrong 3 months ago when they said there was no emergency? Or are they wrong now? In either case, they’re ducking futs.

The claim was that there was no need for a wall because the "emergency" is vastly overstated. The claim was that the number of attempted crossings was sharply down in recent years.

Everyone has recognized the growing problem (inside the overall shrinking problem) of kids showing up at the border - often by themselves.

As I said, I agree that it has been despicable to show up on the Senate floor with a picture of this poor dead family to score cheap political points. The stats show that the number of deaths at the border (hundreds per year - it's not like it's a new problem) has also been shrinking (obviously makes sense given the fact that the number of attempted crossings has dropped precipitously since it's highwater mark under Obama.)

But none of that supports declaring an emergency to build a wall.

Same with violent crime. Trump talks as if crime is high and going higher, when in fact it is precipitously lower than its peak 25 years ago.

I’ll play along. What would support declaring an emergency?

Terrorists? Undocumented individuals flooding in? 20,000 men a month?

I'm guessing that your slant is that he didn't have the power to declare the invasion at the border a National Emergency?

I don't mind so much the emergency declaration as I do the stupidity of building the wall. Trump's position on immigration was much more valuable when that was just a rhetorical tool. In fact, it was a near can't-lose given how unhinged the left's "rebuttals" are. But he severely diluted its effect when he disastrously tried to push forward with physical funding and construction of the wall.

It seems to me that the over-arching strategy of the Dems, and IMHO it may work, is to CREATE the chaos at the border and then, when it becomes horrific enough, BLAME Trump as a monster responsible.

Classic Marxist Revolutionary strategy of:

THESIS

ANTI-THESIS

SYNTHESIS
