They all talk about how it’s an assault to Democracy but aren’t they still allowed to run for those seats?

I’m confused I guess about the definition of representative government and the voting process.

They can run in the newly formed districts. There is a political war happening right now in Florida over it. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is now running in District 20 which is historically a "black district". The black politicians are now freaking out because they only want to be represented by a black person. The chaos is great for Republicans because it is a historical Democrat district. What the blacks want is what SCOTUS just overruled. They don't want equality. They want special treatment.

Republican Wesley Hunt is a black man who won a seat in congress from a red district that voted for Trump by 20 points. It’s not your skin color, it’s your politics.

Correct. I'm waiting on it to happen at the local level. There are several districts in TB-SP that look like octopuses because they are racially drawn.
