Why are you comparing these two events?

We're not.

We're comparing the cognitive dissonance of the respective in-groups in response to the events.

And showing your own cognitive dissonance in the process.

There are obvious facts in both cases that overcome any supposed cognitive dissonance. I'm not in either in-group, as I've barely discussed this situation or J6. They are both events perpetrated by morons.

But there is a canyon of difference between an armed situation where a cop was shot and a protest. I don't believe any J6 attendee was found to be armed.

Shooting a cop is a line you cannot cross, especially while attacking a federal law enforcement facility. Every single person there is lucky they are not in prison for life, or were not shot on site.

Weren’t they convicted by a jury of their peers? I guess the jury was fascist, too.

“We are appealing because we did not get convicted by a jury of our peers, not one Antifa member was on the whole jury. We demand a new trial!”
