Here’s what you do in that situation, first call the police and advise them of the situation and explain that you fear for your life. Then if you have a double action gun make sure you use it as a double action gun. If you cock the hammer back and use it as a single action it is considered as premeditated. If you do shoot, you’d better make sure the entrance wound is in the front.
