If you were a member of Congress would you insist that any corporate tax cuts would be contingent on each company proving that they are investing those savings in hiring more people/better wages?

I would, sorry I don't just trust that corporate fat fricks would do the right thing.

It's a good thing you can't do a damn thing about it

You seem to understand emotion based politics, not economics

Given that corporations are people, why not tax them as people are?

They like to say that until corporations break the law.....then they don't want to be treated like people.

Folks, corporations want to be treated "special" they want tax breaks, they want the tax payer o foot the bill for all types of infrastructure ....just ask any politician that has had to deal with Wal Mart or a distribution center, etc.

When you think of a large corporation, picture a gold diggin' harlot, who tells you she loves you and then bolts after you give her the ring, car and add her name to the checking account

......and you think that down and out trash are only prostitutes. Women peddling their bodies are more honest than most publicly held corporations.

Of course not, more likely they will put in a bank which does the overall economy zero good, but more importantly is not doing what they have said they would do.

How hard is this to understand? I swear people are idiots. If person A) tells the government they will do B) if the government gives them C) shouldn't the government I don't know have some sort of check to make sure that they don't B unless they do C?

There is nothing to prevent a corporation from using money it now saves from the tax cut to increase its use of robots.

In your opinion, is it better for the US to be competitive with the world on corporate taxes? Do we want jobs in the US or overseas?

The reason jobs are shipped overseas is .00001% taxes and 99.99999% because people in other countries will do the same job for way less pay.

Lowering taxes will increase profits, nothing more, nothing less.

Manufacturing will come back to the US when robots start doing the work that Chinese poor people are doing now.

No. The money belongs to the corporation and not to the government. The corporation does not, and should never have to, explain to the government what it does with it's earnings.

What company would not want THAT?

Why is productivity and PROFIT such a bad word for some people?

I try to minimize my expenses and maximize my "value", too.

If I take three bids from reasonably equal contractors, I'm hiring the one I have to pay the least.

ANNNNDDDD....competition flows to where there is profit to be had. It is why we have the various goods and services we enjoy in this country.

What's your preferred method of paying for police protection and highway maintenance?

Everyone carry a gun and keep a sack or two of Quikrete in your garage. Of course you'll need a scoop and wheel barrow too, but then its better than theft. Right?

Productivity and profit are great words. They make the world go round. Nothing wrong with them. The problem the OP and many others have is the lie being told that corporations are going to suddenly increase wages, hire more people, and bring jobs back to this country, just because they get a big tax cut. It's complete nonsense.
