I think I can explain this. I’m part of the new wave of believes that are social Prog-Fasc. Our most fundamental belief is around a socialist free market. So you can invest but all capital gains are shared among all people.

Effectively, we believe in a military and mandatory conscription but at a higher tax rate. For example if you join the military, you need to be taxed on your salary and all the resources you use. A military member should not be forced to go to war against their will. They should be allowed to choose if they go or not. That’s essentially my reason. If you choose to go to war, you should be taxed at a high rate for all resources you use in the process in going to war.

No recruiter blatantly comes out and tells you there’s a chance you’ll go to war when there’s no war going on.

Your military branch boot camp experience may vary.

That’s literally almost the opposite of how we recruit Marines.

Talked to somebody the other day who was a recruiter.

Said finding recruits is getting harder than ever because they using some sort of AI tool now to screen people. Looks at socials and online presence.

Anybody hear of this?

When I talked to the marine recruiter in 2000, all they talked about was college money. Same for the other recruiters. No one ever blatantly came out and said “you could go to war and die potentially”

It was obviously understood that it was a possibility

The USAF told us all through boot camp that we would be in the desert within the first year. I had two cousins that were marines and never once deployed. Both were M1A1 but I deployed every almost every year. The only year I missed is when I pcsed from England back to the States.
