I took a class and there was an interactive map on protected characteristics in the workplace. Characteristics that give employees legal protection and could potentially lead to discrimination lawsuits.
Do you agree with these characteristics?
OREGON

CALIFORNIA
Age, Ancestry, Color, Religious Creed, Denial of Family and Medical Care Leave, Disability (mental and physical, including HIV and AIDS), Marital Status including Domestic Partnership, Medical Condition (cancer and genetic characteristics), Genetic Information, Military and Veteran Status, National Origin, Race (including traits historically associated with race, including, but not limited to, hair texture and protective hairstyles), Sex (which includes pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and medical conditions related to pregnancy, childbirth or breastfeeding), Reproductive Health Decision-Making, Gender, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression
LOUISIANA
Race, Color, Sex, Including Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity, Disability, Age, Religion, National Origin, Sickle Cell Trait, Veteran and Uniformed Service Status, Genetic Trait, Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Related Medical Conditions

I thought it was odd that Oregon has "lawful tobacco use" as a protected characteristic. California has "protective hairstyles".

Didn't Lousiana pas the "Crown Act." I know TX just did, as they did that and impeached their conservative AG. Freaking TX is in the clown world tent.
Not sure if that's a govt only type of law or also for private companies.
