Why not rig up a trip wire with a shotgun hid in the hedges aimed about a foot above he top of the sign? Load it up with #8 field loads so it isn't as likely to kill.

Unless the person is bare foot or there shoes are very wet and the ground is very wet they ain't going to complete the circuit without some serious engineering and some luck....

I know electric fences require the completion of a circuit for current to flow. Cows don't wear shoes except when they are being taken on a date by some farmer who is lonely....if you ain't grounded you ain't shocked. Stick one lead of a voltmeter to an electric fence and the other lead to the side of your shoe.....you will see that there is no current flowing through the meter. If you stick one lead in the ground it will flow but the sole of a shoe is pretty good insulator unless it is somehow compromised. It ain't magic its physics.

That’s weird. Every time I’ve touched an electric fence, I’ve been shocked if it’s on.

Shoes are magic.

Categorically true.

If you have ever been involved in designing agricultural buildings you will know that this is a major problem. There is a potential difference between any two points on earth and any two bodies. A cows hooves are far enough apart that upon stepping onto a concrete pad current can flow through the cow between their front hooves and rear hooves. This can cause problems with cows...particularly a reduction in milk production. The surrounding area of a concrete pad or any difference between the earth and the surface the cow has to stand on has to be electrically continuous so that there is no difference between the two bodies. Pigs are also affected and horses. Given that poultry legs are closer together I have never seen any studies indicating a problem in poultry production but it is a big deal in milk production. You can see cows avoiding this in a situation where the installation is incorrect or has been compromised somehow...they will "hop", as much as cow can, upon stepping on the pad.

You probably ought not be wearing shitty shoes. If you do not complete the circuit to ground you will never know if the fence is on or not. Simple physics.

Extremely dry, loose soil will also not complete the circuit. I get your point though, insulators are "magic" if you have no knowledge of electrical theory....

I accept your premise. Please explain how current flows in an incomplete circuit. I will bow to your superior knowledge of electrical theory publicly in any manner you would like.

The circuit is completed at the transformer retard.

Anyone know how to rig up a trump sign with electricity? Just ordered two signs and I live in the garden district in BR so there’s like a 90% chance my sign will be stolen

Easiest thing to do is order some of those bell and howell disk lights as seen on tv and mount them around it in the ground. They're on amazon

WOW! That is HILARIOUS. Which transformer? How about sketching up that schematic, Edison?
