I sa the lack of footnotes. But, he is writing popular history and not for just academic types. In my copy there are end notes in the back where he cited hi s sources.

It is worth the read. It presents a different prism to view US history. But, remember, as with all historians there is an agenda to his interpretation. But, it is a fascinating tome.

I hate Zinn, he hates America and if he were on fire I would not piss on him to put it out. That being said, I'm not for banning his books or burning them.

Eh, there were spaces between 2 words. You'll live. Second one, minus a coma, is fine.

You could have just said you have nothing of value to offer and called it a day

Lol at the posters criticising Zinn. I'll bet a grand total of zero have actually picked up his books. I don't give a damn if the guy started communism, the book I'm currently reading by him is a fascinating read. Do I take it for gospel? Nah. Is it a good read with some solid historical points about viewing history from the loser's perspective? Yes.

In effect, was Zinn the first Harry Turtledove - alternate history writer? Only his was purported to be non-fiction.

One of the worst, if not the worst book I've ever read.

You are probably right in that not many of his detractors have read his work.

I agree that the book was interesting in context, and I enjoyed it in HS civics, but the following conclusion upon seeing someone say something counter to your opinion is ignorant as frick.
