Phonics was the best way to teach and learn spelling. That, and good old repetition.

I don’t know the details of that story, but many kids are glued to their phones during classes and cheat on homework assignments using AI.

Do elementary and middle schools give spelling test these days?
I remember a spelling test once a week from 1st grade through 8th grade.
Most of the recent National Spelling Bee winners have more than half the alphabet in their first and last names.
