re: Prior to Roe v Wade being overturned I had no idea that abortions were that common.

Thank you for confirming the point. Zealotry leads to authoritarianism.
Outlawing murder is not authoritarian in any way. Never will be.

How is that authoritarian? People who wished to practice non-discrimination could still do so, people who didn't would not. It would involve less government coercion by force, and would be in no way an increase in authoritarianism.

You can certainly disagree.

See this isn't about babies or woman for you. It's about your lack of respect for women and their choices. Keep your life style choices to yourself

For me, it's about jailing murderers. Anyone who has an abortion should get face life in prison. Multiple offenders should face the death penalty.

So for you it's about enforcing your view of when life starts on other people then applying existing laws....gotcha....I disagree but it's atleast a stance not born out of sexism

So Roe, Obergefell & many other rulings are authoritarian. I don't remember you complaining much about that aspect of Obergefell but maybe I just forgot.

Nope. It's about outlawing the direct, intentional killing of a child in the womb.
Abortion: the direct, intentional killing of a child in the womb
Choice: being allowed to decide to directly & intentionally kill a child in the womb
Women's Rights: mothers being allowed to directly & intentionally kill their children in the womb
Reproductive Healthcare: an elective procedure that directly & intentionally kills an already reproduced child in the womb
My Body, My Choice: using your body to directly & intentionally kill a child's body in the womb

25% of Gen X was aborted.

Constitutionally, Roe was bad law, and I was glad to see it reversed. Obergefell was (and remains) sound legal analysis.

Abortion was legal and common in ancient Greece.
It vowed not to use a pessary for abortion, because the pessary was known to be dangerous to the woman’s health. It said nothing about other methods, such as abortifacients.

You forgot to mention that these women had to have their husbands permission to have an abortion.

It appears "my body, my choice" is a recent selfish movement. Even the ancients understood the reality.
Modern women (and Hank) want it both ways. They want it to be their choice when its in their body, but as soon as it exits, someone else is paying.

So if they wear black robes and you like the decision it’s not authoritarian. Come on, Hank. You either believe the minority forcing its views is authoritarian or you don’t.

I was responding to someone saying women should keep their legs closed.
Let’s talk rape though. If your 12 year old daughter was a rape victim, I doubt you would want the government forcing her to give birth. After the baby is born, imagine fighting with her rapist over issues such as custody/visitation/child support. Before you say adoption, note that if the bio father is known, he must consent to the adoption. There is not an easy solution.
Some people can’t empathize unless they are directly affected by the situation.
