You mean to avoid responsibility. Preventing responsibility (the responsibility being to take care of a child) would have taken place before pregnancy by not being so careless and using some form of protection. Once pregnant, the ship has already sailed and the responsibility exists, which abortion is used to avoid.
I think your point was the same, but to me preventing
would be a proactive action that takes place prior to, and abortion to then avoid the birth is a reactive response. These people are so irresponsible and lazy that they will only put some effort towards being responsible when things get serious and it will impact their lives. There is no bother with personal responsibility until something has happened.
