I don’t see that as a even keeled, level headed assessment of Trump in this regard; I see it as starting out with an extreme dislike of him, and then from there being motivated by that extreme dislike to form a very negative view of his every move and policy, this just being the latest example. That’s the danger of having a near 100% disapproval view of him (and again, his every move and policy). And very vocal negative criticism of him at every turn. The constancy of it, with very little if any exceptions insofar as actual commendation or voiced approval, tends to cause a deterioration of credibility.

Check my post history. I've been on this board since 2013. I've supported Trump for most of my post history. I did so because I believed him to be the closest thing to Ron Paul when it comes to foreign policy. The idea that I'm some sort of visceral TDS patient is ridiculous.

Y’all are the ones calling this “regime change.” Guess what? When there’s good reason to strike a country, through its “regime,” because when was the last time one country had to do such a thing to another country because of something its citizens did, not its leaders?? So of course yes, when one country is put in that position no one with any sense should be thinking “Well, we want to destroy their ability to continue to do what they’ve been doing wrong, but we don’t want the regime to change!!” Common sense dictates that in any such situation it should be reasonably assumed that the wrongdoing regime could very likely not make it through the operation in tact, thus obviously a new regime would necessarily come into play.

But no, there’s a disingenuous narrative that Trump has it out for the Iranian regime, I guess for personal reasons, and he began his thinking on this operation some time ago, and was primarily motivated by “regime change.” And y’all have adopted that as your primary tool of opposition against the President in this instance. So pardon me if I’m not impressed by your explanation in this case.

I’m not at all calling you a liar about that rendition of history, but I myself have observed a stark shift in that approach to Trump, and in its stead I now see an unambiguous default is to out of hand assume a fault or failure, then go from there. Again, to be clear, I do not intend any insult or offense with this.

You truly are Deplorable!

I am deplorable and I have been deplorable since before deplorable was cool. I have been a critic of neoconservative foreign policy goals long before Trump took that 2015 escalator ride in Trump Tower to announce his candidacy.

And I further cheered Trump’s promise to reject these failed interventionist policies. I continued to support Trump while many of the neocons now singing Trump’s praises were ridiculing and disparaging the MAGA base:

It most certainly doesn’t. The country is more culturally divided than ever and after the calamitous Great Recession, an increasing number of Americans have remained in a state of permanent unease over the state of the economy. The lesson is indeed more relevant than ever.

Well, maybe you should consider expanding your thought process so that it would require the use of more words.

Whatever. I kid. Best wishes.

My question is when did you become such an idiot? Have you always been this way here or is it recent?

The true idiots are those who think this era of permanent warfare, perpetual welfare and endless bailouts is fiscally sustainable long term. At some point, gravity is going to take over and it won’t be a soft landing for any of us.

That the moonbat AOC embraces Modern Monetary Theory — which is neither modern nor a monetary theory — simply underscores that salient point. AOC is indeed the logical endpoint of our nation’s money printing scheme.

Trump rejected endless wars. Thats it. He never stated he would not use military and in fact stated he would and it would be over fast.

Your issue is YOU did not listen to Trump. You heard what you wanted to hear.

I heard what Trump told his MAGA supporters in his first term. It is pure spin to suggest it meant something else.

Trump’s new foreign policy: ‘We will stop looking to topple regimes’:

by Anna Giaritelli December 2, 2016 2:27 am

President-elect Trump announced a libertarian-like foreign policy at his first “thank you” rally in Cincinnati on Thursday night.

While sharing core components of the tasks he will have his administration focus on, Trump rolled out new directions for the State and Defense Departments.

“We will destroy ISIS. At the same time, we will pursue a new foreign policy that finally learns from the mistakes of the past. We will stop looking to topple regimes and overthrow governments, folks,” Trump told attendees at the U.S. Bank Arena. “Our goal is stability, not chaos because we wanna rebuild our country. It’s time.”

Trump said throughout the campaign season that he opposed the Iraq War and lambasted Hillary Clinton for supporting the decision to send troops to the Middle East…
