Point is it isn't currently an option so expect more build out of utility scale solar in the interim. We can't just do nothing while we are waiting on emerging tech to mature and become commercially viable.

We can’t scale out electricity production and distribution?

What makes you think we aren't? And this is largely a private sector issue.

I believe their goal is $60/MWh.

What?

Jesus christ, are we in the same thread? Youre just throwing shite against the wall now.

Isnt most of our planning regarding the future, and not the present? I'm almost positive my previous posts were positioned that way.

Why yes, I did.

At some point the citizens will be forced to rise up against our government. I don’t see how they can expect to do things like this without the citizens taking the nation back out of their control. These people are clearly trying to increase the hardships on the American people.

Are they doing a conversion or just completely decommissioning the plants?

Solid reduction. I'm interested to see how the PTC flows back into the economics since these are heavy capex consumers and more likely to be owned by companies that have their own tax appetite vs the wind and solar that usually sell of the credits in a JV.

Hell if I were a younger man and still interested in my career I'd petition for one in my backyard....even on commercial nukes it is about as easy money as a person can make and its damned good money....

Reminds me of an story...

When I was a kid we lived in the shadow of a coal burner. One of my friends mom called Georgia Power and asked them since the house was so close was there any kind of discount. Apparently the person she talked to told her no and in fact they appreciated her calling....they had her down for the day old rate when she was so close and the power was so fresh she was supposed to be paying the same day rate. She was worried sick about it and when she told her husband he acted like they had told her the truth LOL...

One will be in moth balls the other in a year or 2. Thing is, they are figuring out it’s not going to work so…. There’s a lot of discussion on running them longer. I hope so… they take more people to run, more maintenance which means more work.
