He may not have ushered it in but he enabled and emboldened it. It grew like a damn weed during those eight years.

First thing I thought of when asked to reflect on the Republican nomination season.

Don't you think technology had more to do with it than anything Obama could have done?

Twitter and Facebook exploded while he was in office, which are the pipes that deliver our reactions and points of view on just about everything.

I do agree that technology has played a huge part. There are many factors that contributed to it's growth. But Obama was one of those factors also.

Where does political correctness begin and end for you? In other words, what's ok and what isn't it? I'm curious.

A person's right to be offended does not trump my right to practice free speech. Ever.

His idealogy and his overt public stances on issues. Political correctness is a tool for leftist idealogy. Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. Read Rules 11-13. Those can certainly be applied to political correctness.

I'm part of a Facebook group that posts comedian clips new and old. I watched two separate clips yesterday that made me cringe a little. Redd foxx and Don rickles acts would cause so much outrage if done today. It's a sad state we are in today when everything is considered offensive. I liked the days when things were actually considered a joke and people had thicker skin.

The goal needs to be an honest discussion on race, genetic intelligence, impulse control and outcomes. As long as the science deniers decry this as taboo I have no reason to engage.

Are you willing to include opportunity, class / race / gender privilege and shifting demographics? What about values, i.e. The more shite you have the more successful you are?

Do you think Obama ushered political correctness into the US consciousness?

Sure. Look at all the damn social issues that stayed on the front page during his tenure and the kicker is, he supported every one of them.

I wish Mel brooks would do the blazing saddles musical like he wants to do young Frankenstein.

He said he'd love to one day. Perhaps that day is approaching

Ah, another poster that ignores content of posts. I'm not a lefty.

Then maybe you should set a baseline and answer your own question so people don't confuse you with a "leftie"

Where does political correctness begin and end for you?

Really? Resource rich nations that have been brutalized and exploited by Europe for the last couple of hundred years? You and I won't be around to see it butyour theory would hold up if, after 400 years, Africa is still fricked up.
