I thought it was funny, but I immediately knew that this was a mistake for the officer, and not simply because of cancel culture. Even in normal times, it’s common knowledge that officers need to tread lightly on controversial topics, especially while in uniform. The maintenance of the image of impartiality is a big deal in government service, and police work in particular.

The fact that it’s only a week suspension (if that info is correct) means that the department is giving him a slap on the wrist for public show.

Typically I would agree with you. However this shouldn't even be controversial. The left has pushed the overton window so far, that it has made it controversial. The fact that LeBron hasn't faced a bigger backlash for his comments tells you everything you need to know. That Columbus cop was a hero and saved the girls life, I don't even understand the controversy.

I just think it’s funny we live in a world where police are being held to a higher standard of perceived impartiality than the military brass. They can tweet partisan shite all day and that’s fine because it supports Democrats

Wait. He works for the government, right? Seems like a free speech issue.

It’s only a controversial topic because we live in clown world. It’s not a really controversial topic.

We the people don't pay nurse's with our taxes.

I still think it's funny as shite, pretty sure he has an agenda.

This is true, but that’s what you sign up for when you are a cop. If you can perceive that some people will get their panties in a twist over a thing (and this certainly applies to this situation) then you just can’t do that thing.
