Phil Robertson: How God gave me the best thing that could have come out of my sinful past

This is one of the best written articles I've read in sometime.

quote:

I repented for my rebellion against the Holy God. I felt His mercy, and now, I have a new-found daughter who is a blessing to my life. Miss Kay and I agree she is the best thing to come out of my past. She is a beautiful, God-fearing woman, and I am proud to be her father. This is how God works. He takes our wickedness and turns it into something beautiful. For me that “something beautiful” is my precious daughter.

Remember when the left wanted to use this as some sort of indictment on the Robertson family and call them hypocrites?
quote:

If you wanted to drag a skeleton out of my closet from all those years ago, it wouldn’t take you long to find one. Truth be told, I’ve dragged out plenty of my own skeletons over the years in an effort to be honest about who I was before the Almighty got hold of me

The world needs more people like this.

Indeed it does. And a whole lot less liberals. By whatever means it takes to make that happen

They cancelled this mans show because he prayed with family before meals; and said being gay is in the Bible and bad.

Doesn't he have a right to speak his truth?

And he still reaches out with his faith through these acts. I like their podcast I saw once, where do I listen to it?

It never fails that I find not one ounce of inspiration from stories like this.
quote:

He takes our wickedness and turns it into something beautiful.

I'm very happy for the wicked man that God has put beauty in his life, but now if He could only do something for my little penchant of contemplating suicide every waking hour of my life for the last 25 years,...that would be great, because at the moment the only beauty I can hope for is to not be found in an institution one day creating wall art with my own feces.

Idle thoughts at noon.

When I hear liberals try to throw a Christians past in their face it still shocks me at how little they really understand the gospel. Redemption is the whole point. Leftism is a philosophy without redemption. I can’t imagine how much that must suck.

Is is possible you haven't truly invited Jesus into your heart so that he might truly change your life.

Jesus doesn't go where he isn't invited.

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Matthew 7: 7-8 Verse 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Verse 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Jesus will not come into your life nor change your life unless invited in to do so. Plus he never promised anyone that their life would be perfect and without bad times.

“The God Of the Mountain Is Still God In The Valley” 1Kings 20:23-27. Meaning God is still with us always, through good times and the bad.

Whether you choose to believe me or not, as one that contemplated suicide at a low point in my life, suicidal thoughts are from Satan himself. God has given us the power over our enemy, rebuke him in Jesus' name and he must flee. That doesn't mean he won't return and try again. One just has to invoke God's name again and again as those situations arise.

Unashamed, it's on their site, also on Beck's BlazeTV Channel 250 on The Pluto TV app.

Tell me what God is NOT doing for you that is making you contemplate suicide?

God will do everything you need but not necessarily what you want. Do you believe that God wants to help you?

Praying for you, dear soul.

Yes but on the flip side, a television station also has a right to stop airing stuff that they don't agree with.

I feel for you Amadeo. Things will get better. If you've waited 25 years........ maybe change a few things in your life. I'm not trying to be a smart arse I am only trying to help. I will pray for you and hope you see the light and your future is bright. Peace.

No names but one of Phils grand kids was at my house before he new and told us. My wife and I said that Phil would probably write a book about it and let the world know as soon as he did. That's just what he did. And the press has no power when you let the light shine.

Phil doesn't deny it

quote:

hides behind the Bible

Quite the contrary, he so thankfully accepts it's terms, repentantly, for the promise of forgiveness..

That for such, doesn't hide, but rather is called to help spread the word of it's salvation.

Let God do his job, he knows who hides behind Bibles, and who is alive in his Spirit.
