Theodore Roosevelt would be sad. He refused to shoot a bear that was being restrained for him on a hunt because there was no sport in it. That's why teddy bears are named after him. Will we ever have another leader as phenomenal as Teddy was?

You hate spin, but you keep pushing goal posts. Something being legal is a far cry from people enjoying it, or even doing it, which is what your original hyperbole referred to.

Roger will be able to comment more on the legality since he actually lives there

Natives have den hunted for subsistence for thousands of years. Nothing is killed in den. The bears are roused and killed for meat.

No one shoots baby bears.

quote:

Hunters may not take any bear cubs or sows with cubs. For this regulation, a black bear cub is defined as a black bear in its first year of life while a grizzly bear cub is defined as a grizzly in its first or second year of life.

This is the Alaska hunting regulation. You could have easily found this yourself

He's too busy anthropomorphizing sweet, innocent little bear babies and bear families sound asleep in their homes.

Who gives a shite if it's unsportsmanlike? If you need the bear for food, does it really matter how it is killed?

want to see a well managed deer herd, I'll show you the hard-to-get-into hunting clubs across Alabama.

And if you break the rules of those clubs, even on accident, they go in dry on you hard.

If a buck must score 150 to be shootable, you better let what you think is a 160 walk.

Many villages have subsistence rights. I think people like the OP forget that some people still depend on wild game for survival
