It's more humane. Bear stew is tasty.

Is almost like shooting a duck on the water. Just a lot less dangerous

Killing keystone predators that aren't affecting livestock is bad ecology.

Oddly enough, that website was bemoaning private ownership of currently federal lands and its impact on wildlife - while experience has shown, at least in Africa (apples and oranges, I know) that private stewardship greatly reduces ecological catastrophe through overhunting.

You want to see a well managed deer herd, I'll show you the hard-to-get-into hunting clubs across Alabama.

You want to go out and pretend to hunt while hoping to get lucky, I'll show you a wma.

Don't buy into the enviro bullshite. The resolution just overturns a rule taking management away from Alaska. It just returns management to the state.

Well, I can't speak to this instance specifically, but if my livelihood depended on there being less bears/wolves/whatever near me, I'd probably be torching those frickers holes like a WW2 flamethrower on Iwo Jima

That's easy. The same people who grow up spoiled and then later decide they need a "trophy" for a status symbol.

What's the intention of unbanning and does the original ban contain provisions for nuisance animals (hogs)?

Also, that sounds dangerous as frick.

I have a buddy who shoots wild hog herds from a helicopter on his land. I've been meaning to ask for a chance to light 'em up.

"Women and children, too?"
"Sometimes!"

Presumably to cull numbers.

My question is how in hell is it less "humane" to kill a hibernating bear then to kill one fully aware of its surroundings and plight?

so a very conservative state will have to make new laws to reinstate these protections. and in the meantime, people can do said practices.

if it passes the senate obviously

The part people are upset about deals with predictor control. Funny that people weren't complaining prior to 2016 when the Feds took over control

Dude, the rule being overturned was in place less than a year. Where were you in 2015.

Those frickers are so damaging to the environment and ecology that I really don't care how they're killed.
