I think there were originally 20 but 4 for some reason were removed
I was actually just reading the charges and #11 includes this statement "Those delays 'deprived the electorate of its opportunity to make an informed decision when voting for attorney general,”'. It is literally a he beat a Bush charge.

Correct.
Where we currently are ….
Ken Paxton has been acquitted of 11 articles of impeachment thus far.
5 articles remain on which to vote.

This one sounds (16) kind of sounds funky. Sounded like an all encompassing umbrella charge of sorts. But may have heard wrong as it was read fast.

The last 5 charges are "conspiracy" misappropriation of public funds (possibly the only one he could be found guilty on), dereliction of duty unfit for office, and abuse of public trust.
Four of those are just additional charges based on the ones he already beat. Good to see the Bushes in Texas are overcharging.

Is West the black guy that was in the background when Bugsby was doing his questioning?
Posted on 9/16/23 at 12:27 pm to TrueTiger
Which one are they going to “rationalize” about and claim that he is guilty?

I’m only listening, not watching, so I didn’t see.
Royce West is the only black senator, fyi.
ETA: I just reread your comment.
You were referring to the questioning part of the trial, not the current vote.
Yes, that was Sen. West behind Buzbee.

I am so confused right now. I thought there were 16 and now they are voting on 18.

With him beating all of the other charges it would be a miracle if he was convicted on any of the remaining ones.

Yeah that's what I was referring too. I looked up West cause he was yay on all but 1 so far so that reminded me of him in the background

TDTOM, they renumbered them; some numbers were skipped due to logistical issues earlier in the trial.
There are indeed 16 total.
