Is this like a Presidential impeachment where he can be found guilty but not removed?

Honestly I am surprised it's taken this long. Unlike a real jury they don't need to reach consensus. They simply need to vote.
This is a political problem now. The plan going in is now being questioned.
There was no real evidence presented, the defense destroyed several key witnesses.
Right now you have people caught between a rock and a hard place.

I hope enough people contacted their representatives and senators.

No.
If the Senate finds Paxton guilty of any of the articles of impeachment, he’ll be removed from office.
House managers likely would then ask senators to consider whether Paxton should be barred from running for any state office in the future.

As a reminder ….
30 State Senators will cast their votes in public
The threshold for conviction is 21 yay votes
(two-thirds majority is needed to convict; Senator Angela Paxton—Ken’s wife—is an effective "nay" vote. As the 31st senator, her presence increased the threshold for conviction from 20 yay votes to 21 yay votes)

That seems like a bunch republicans would have to flip.

Indeed.
It’s a high threshold for pro-impeachers to reach in what is a Conservative Texas Senate.
But multiple Bush/RINO hangers-on are wildcards.

Somebody is being leaned on to change his vote. Who and by whom is the million dollar question.
