House Speaker Paul Ryan, R- Wis., faced a wave of backlash over a now-deleted tweet celebrating a Pennsylvania woman whose paycheck saw a $1.50-per-week increase due to tax reform.

Sharing a story from the Associated Press, Ryan wrote Saturday on Twitter: “A secretary at a public high school in Lancaster, PA, said she was pleasantly surprised her pay went up $1.50 a week… she said [that] will more than cover her Costco membership for the year.”

Though Ryan was highlighting how workers have begun to see more money in their paycheck due to the GOP tax-reform bill that was signed into law late last year, many Twitter users mocked the tweet because $1.50 isn't all that much money.

Why would he delete it? He needs to own it if he is touting increases in take-home pay. I guess he failed to recognize that the woman was being sarcastic. Trump stands by his tweets.

It’s more than she had before.

She wasn't being sarcastic. If she was, then a whole bunch of news articles and agencies, not just paul ryan, did not see it.

Yep, reggielendale, a self-described "republican", shitting on the one law that like 90% of republicans support.

Sooooo sick and tired of liberals coming on here and defending themselves as "moderate republicans"...then solely posting left wing shite.

I have said more than a handful of times that I support the majority of Donald Trump’s policies. But just ignore that and only pay attention to what fits your agenda. I will stated again here. I voted for him. I support the majority of his policies. However I do not blindly follow the masses to the orange Kool-Aid containers.

If a democrat signed a law that gave every american a free dental cleaning, it would be crowned a huge achievement.

That is about what this lady got.

So you don't support the tax law? That is like the one issue that unifies all republicans.

Why are you a republican if you are against tax cuts?

Of course I am for the tax law. I never said I wasn’t. In fact not long after it was past I posted that it was very good news.

Paul Ryan is a pussy, always has been. With that said we all know if the parties were reversed and Obamba was still President this would be celebrated as a financial triumph and the secretary would probably be booked on The View and Ellen by now.

Search this pussies post history, I have as yet to find a single positive comment, unless you buy his horse shite comments claiming he agrees with the majority of Trump's policies.

Of course you don’t. And I will tell you why. I have made numerous posts about my support of his doings and his policies. However, sometimes, in the same posts I have also stated that I am not a partisan Republican hack in so many words. I have called him out on some of his stupid tweets. So of course when a person is critical of Trump, the sheep will disregard any positive comment.

Seems you could find a better example. 1.50 is actually crumbs but that could be cause whoever does the paycheck didn't adjust it much and she will overpay, getting a bigger tax return.

Hell I saw 80 dollar increase on mine
