No, its not.
Again for the short bus folks.
Democracy is a system of government.
Populism is an election strategy.

Some of us have grown over the years.

You must be retarded. The entire point of an election is to pick.......a leader. By your own words, populism is leader-centric. Can you not make the leap?

He just wants to derail this thread. Doing a good job.
To end this derail I suggest people go to the Oxford dictionary and read the definitions of populism and democracy.

Explain to me how “democracy” of your vision would be different
I would not take any criticism using blanket terms like populism or democracy seriously. Without specifics it's either laziness or a tell that you are just disgruntled and what to poke a jab at the winners.

nonetheless, 95 percent of incumbents were re-elected in the midterm elections. This is sometimes known as Fenno's Paradox,
People vote for issues, not leaders, unless youre populist or in some other personality cult.

Mate, are you serious that we accept that
Kind of. I know what Israel did and that's enough for me. Just trying to focus more on the positive things going on than find a reason to be bitter constantly.

There are different definitions in Oxford, but they are meaningless
If you don’t want the commoner to have a say, then don’t give them the right to vote.
If you do give them the right to vote, then you have granted them access to the democracy

No, its to choose a rep who will carry forward your issues. We dont worship them, they work for us.
Unless youre a populist.

Then what is the point of primaries, specifically Dem party primaries, when all candidates vote in lockstep?
Nice talking to you

Individualism, the same thing that has carried conservative thought for decades.

They got caught up in the Billy Badass moment, I guess. They did the opposite of speaking softly and carrying a big stick. Rather, they shouted from the rooftops armed with a toothpick.
It was a misstep, and I truly hope they can regroup and avoid a similar mistake in the future.
Spot on

Pretty much a waste of time since incumbents are re-elected at a 95% clip

Stupid. Didn't mean to name call.
Populism is only attacked by the losers in democratic elections.
Populism and democracy are not exclusive but intertwined.
You didn't read the definitions in Oxford. Too bad.

To circle back to this, if people only voted for ideas, shouldn't Kamala have perfromed similarly to JB in 2020? Discuss

Twit.
One is a system of government. You can cry all you want, that never changes.

People vote for the known entity.
Youre old enough to know this.
