FWIW, this news outlet has provided a further update since this was posted last night. It now includes additional reporting that confirms that all out-of-state fire trucks are required to be inspected by CALDOT:
Yes, fire trucks coming to California are subject to inspections, including safety inspections by the Department of Transportation (DOT) to ensure compliance with state regulations. This is especially important for out-of-state vehicles entering the state to assist with emergencies like wildfires.
I’ve provided a screenshot in case the report should be further edited:

As has been discussed in this thread, no, they were not held for emissions testing.
This was suggested, yet not confirmed.
Again, what were these “repairs.”
Surely they were documented - no?
What was so important to keep first responders from being able to - you know…respond?
Exactly. If state officials gave a frick, they would have provided a state police escort for the donated fire trucks all the way to the emergency to help the tax payers of the state.
Those folks with money and the ability to move, I can't understand why they would choose to stay and be so fricked over by their state government.

I’m glad you liked it.
And as I indicated earlier, yours was a nice melt.
Your play here is to continue with the melt line huh? Okay. Stupid and predictible, but okay.
Can we replace you with someone capable of making an argument? You provide nothing of substance. You're usless here.
Find somebody to take your place.

Lacking smog certificates? That sounds a lot like emissions to me…

You just post dumb fluff that means nothing? Is this your argument?
Like the marine dude talking about the PM on his gun or some crap... what does that have to do with emergency response insoections in California? We do SPCC inspections that also has nothing to do with EM.. well SPCC is a preventative measure policy for small and catastrophic failure on oil storage stystems. So it is considered part of EM. Actually it's part of the Oil Pollution Prevention requirements in part of 40CFR.
Dude, you need to put more effort into this. Give me something good to work with.

Cool. If you read the thread I have always said nothing about emmisions inspections. I think it's ridiculous to perform emmissions testing on the emergency vehicles. I have not supported that even once.
This whole time, I was speaking of specifically equipment and safety inspections for the teams going into the zone... and that's clearly apparent.
Good job posting the article though. Not sure what that has to do with anything I have said in this thread.
Was that supposed to be a profound gotcha moment on me or something?

Nice deflection.
No documentation listing those “repairs” huh?

What revisions? I edit my posts, but I don't change the message. I never spoke about emmissions.
Are you saying I did? I hope you're saying that.
I've also never said anything about repairs. Again, please say I did.
Your downvotes are funny. You just can't wait to hit that button huh? You must be proud. You've accomolished nothing else here... just downvoting posts. Impressive.

Fact check: "IT WASN'T 'EMISSIONS TESTING' IT WAS VERIFYING 'SMOG CERTIFICATES'! WHY DO CONSERVATIVES ALWAYS LIE?"

Everyone else was.
You shite on their posts with a minutia of unrelated info.
Perhaps next time, instead of “talking over people” in a torrent of self aggrandizement, you should take a moment and actually digest what is being said.

Go back a read the thread maybe. I wasn't trying to shite on posts. I was just saying what I knoe about EM. The argument was any type of inspection was stupid. Not just emmissions testing. I said no.. some are necessary, and here we are.
You have a bunch of ignorant people talking out of their arse per usual. I do it too. Just not this thread. I was trying to have a normal conversation, but I should remember where I am...

And here you are with more “message board” b.s. after bitching about it above: in addition to being a feeble minded clotpole you are a mewling hypocrite! See how that works?
As I indicated above, I am here for discussion but if you want to trade insults, well and fine. I am game for that too!
So with those pleasantries out of the way, you have proven yourself to be a low-wattage dolt who seems utterly incapable understanding the simplest of concepts. Requiring fire trucks from a neighboring state — that themselves are maintained to meet stringent DOT regulations and pass relevant fire safety protocols — to undergo further inspections is both a needless waste of manpower and precious time.
Only a currish bureaucrat or a blundering simpleton would defend such idiocy. And based on your comments in this thread, you appear to be both!
So Congratulations! Since we both are repeating ourselves at this point, you may have the last word if you so choose!

Inspection 5.5 hours away in Sacramento.
But it's to ensure they made the arduous journey from Oregon with safe equipment.
I bet they sent untrained fire fighters as well.

I don’t know if it is or not.
I would like to see some documentation though.
Again, what documented repairs were required by the state of Commiefornia?

Why? What was said? What did Isay that contradicts myself? If there is something on your mind, say it.
See? When I said that I explained myself in my post. You should try doing that.
Tell me why I'm wrong. Shouldn't take long to type it out.
Edit: this is really boring me. You wanna quit? I do.
We're about to start season 2 of Your Honor on Netflix. I'd rather do that.

I bet they made the Canadian scupper aircraft land in Sacramento for safety inspections right?
