You can tell who the real socialists are on the left when it comes to taxes. They think it's all "our money" I suspect they harbor similar feelings about everything.

If you look at things in that perspective then your outlook is that the government owns everything and they merely allow you to possess whatever they deem you worthy of possessing.
But, for all practical purposes, that's essentially the system we already have here in the US today

I had a discussion with a guy the other day on this subject. We were discussing the shitty state of Alaska politics and how to fix the current budget issues.
Well, he loves taxes. Not only loves em but if you say anything derogatory about them you cannot have a conversation with the guy. The more, the better. People should be ashamed to want to keep more of their money, blah blah blah.
Of course, he teaches at the local university.
