That's not what I said. I said the original intent was "more of a free-speech marketplace". Twitter was basically a free SMS service with social networking elements. As such, there weren't any limits on speech (especially not political speech). So my take on it may have a little spin on it, but it's not far off as social media of the time wasn't big on censoring (since no one was really pushing boundaries back then).
