I've been looking to change careers and have been searching for a job recently. Several of the positions I've applied for have been temporary closed.

So it's not just the working people that are going to be laid off. It's a lot of the jobs that were about to be created that will not exist for the time being.

Let’s hope that “the time being” doesn’t extend into 2021

No kidding. I think a lot of people are just watching and waiting to see how things unfold at this point.

A virtual freeze in economic velocity has repercussions in millions of ways all throughout the country that will be almost impossible to detect until years down the line. Not surprising.

It's hokey as hell, but we need to get out in front of this and play offense. And that starts with play suffocating defense until we have a handle on the problem.

It's gonna be a recession and this bill will make it worse.

And major cities are talking about 6-8 months stay at home.

We are manufacturing the 2nd Great Depression.

What businesses can stay in business with 30 days of no business? Let alone most of the year?

We are committing suicide.

It's crazy to me how we can put out a 2T dollar stimulus bill that will do almost nothing

Which cities and where are you hearing this from?

I’m lucky enough to have changed careers from a contractor to “essential” personnel last year. I can’t imagine how much I’d be freaking out right now if I were laid off or looking for a new position like many are.

Good luck to you and all the other job seekers. Hopefully this doesn’t last long and the economy picks back up soon.

No relief is the best relief.

Force people to go back to work and businesses to re-open.

Human self-preservation is financial self-preservation and creates commerce and rejuvenates Capitalsim.

We're not a socialist or communist country. There is no such thing as shelter in place beyond a week or two.

Giving people a check for two months tells them to help nothing but Netflix.

A crutch in a time of panic only makes it worse.

This will be bad...really bad. The only thing we have left is a people's revolt...who go outside, defy lockdowns and go to work.

The less help the government gives, the better the long-term. Any aid given is just going to exacerbate and prolong the hysteria which is going to cripple the economy and create massive unemployment.

It doesn't take a lot to create years of dark days ahead.

Thanks

I have a good safety net. Would just prefer not to dip into it much.
